Drop-in Tutoring

Drop-in tutoring is staffed by graduate and undergraduate TAs. Graduate TAs can assist with most, but not always all, courses through Math 413. Please consult the individual course scheduels below to find times at which a drop-in tutor will be available to assist you with your specific course.

Tutoring by Appointment

Book 30-minute peer tutoring sessions via the Navigate Student App.

How to Book:

  1. Download Navigate Student or access it via my.pitt.edu.
  2. Log in with your Pitt credentials (2FA required).
  3. Navigate to the Appointments tab.
  4. Select Tutoring as the appointment type.
  5. Select Math Assistance Center as the location.
  6. Choose your specific math course and pick an available 30-minute time slot.

If you experience scheduling issues, missing tutors, or need a specific tutor not listed in the app, please email Dr. Hockensmith.

Mission: The MAC seeks to enhance your understanding of mathematics through peer tutoring and graduate TA guidance for students encountering conceptual barriers. We offer support with math courses through the 400-level and some select 1000-level courses like Math 1180 and Math 1270.
