Special Numbers Through Palindromic Weights of Strings

We will obtain various sequences of special numbers (for example, the triangular numbers) through considering what we will introduce as the "palindromic weight" of strings.  Some sequences are known on the On-line Encylcopedia of Integer Sequences and others are new.  As we obtain these numbers by counting, this talk will be very combinatorial.
