Chern-Weil theory for equivariant bundles

Suppose that a compact Lie group G acts on a smooth manifold M.  To any G-equivariant complex vector bundle with connection over M, there exist classical constructions of equivariant Chern forms and equivariant Chern classes.  In my talk, I will explain how to use simple bundle constructions to produce this equivariant Chern-Weil theory from the ordinary non-equivariant theory.  I will then explain how this naturally produces secondary Chern-Simons type invariants.
