Vanishing physical viscosity limit for isentropic gas dynamics with a general pressure law

Abstract: In this talk, I will present some recent results (joint work with Simon Schulz) that establish the convergence of the vanishing viscosity limit from the one-dimensional isentropic compressible Navier-Stokes equations to the Euler equations for general pressure laws. This work uses the tools of compensated compactness and develops and extends the finite energy framework of Chen-Perepelitsa for this problem.
