This is the third in a sequence of three calculus courses for science and engineering students. The goal is to prepare you to make use of calculus as a practical problem-solving tool in two and three dimensions.
This program provides discounted access to the digital version of the textbook and the publisher’s WebAssign content, but only the textbook itself is required. To access the textbook, you will need to follow the WebAssign link posted in Canvas.
If you already have a copy of the textbook or prefer to purchase it elsewhere, you should opt out of Inclusive Access via the RedShelf link in Canvas. More details can be found in the Opting Out Instructions .
Your course grade will be determined using the percentages below. Note that some instructors may deviate from these weights; any deviations will be announced in class.
If you achieve a final course grade percentage in one of the following ranges, your course grade will be no lower than the corresponding letter grade:
All graded homework will be completed online through the LON-CAPA system. If you are not on Pittnet, connection via GlobalProtect is required. Read the LON-CAPA instructions and check the proper syntax for entering answers.
Practice problems listed in the course schedule are not collected or graded, but exam and quiz problems will often be modeled on them.
You will meet with your TA twice per week to work on practice problems related to course material.
The Math Assistance Center (MAC) offers free tutoring by appointment, including same-day appointments via Pathways. Additionally, the MAC offers drop-in tutoring at regular times throughout the week.
